you can tone the muscles to give the arm a better shape but you won’t see the difference if you don’t reduce fat too.

The muscles at the back of the upper arm are the triceps. We don’t use these muscles often enough so they become soft and flabby. As we get older, fatty tissue collects in that area and has nothing to support it.

The good news is!

You can strengthen these muscles again at any age. What we need are upper arm exercises that are simple, speedy and get results!

You can use light weights to begin but try to graduate to weights that challenge you as soon as you can. Don’t overdo it though!

For the chair dip, I always place the chair against the wall so it cannot move away.

My favourites are rebounding and walking. Rebounding on a mini trampoline is said to use 3 x as many calories per session as jogging! It’s great for strengthening weak knees and ankles and building exercise confidence. You can break up the session into 2 or 3 parts and integrate arm toning exercises into the routine too. Whether you go to the gym, dance, swim or workout to a video as long as you are moving your body you are burning calories and you will reduce fat and make your arm toning exercises more effective. If you look around until you find what really excites you, you will be much more likely to stick to it and even do more.
